Mathematical Olympiads: Email of 2016-02-01 (new students)

SUBJECT: [TT] Monday or Wednesday sessions

The introductory sessions are now finished. I'd like to have gotten further than I did, before having you join my other students, but it can't be helped. I may have to see if I can extend the mini i-lectures, at some point. You may wish to wait a week or two, since this week and next Monday also, I will be concentrating on AMO preparation and so I'll be going through a previous AMO (Australian Mathematics Olympiad). This year's AMO will be held on 9-10 February, and then I'm not allowed to discuss that AMO for 3 weeks. After 8 February, I can spend more time with the background theory needed for the problems we discuss, but I will nevertheless try to include some discussion of background needed prior to 8 February.

So the sessions from here are (choose which ever is the more convenient):

Boardroom at Curtin (where intro. sessions were held) ... Mondays 4:30-6:30pm (see Boardroom directions if you need directions ... but if you do, please ensure you have checked out all the mini i-lectures and read the accompanying chapters listed below).
OR
MLR1 at UWA ... Wednesdays 5-7:30pm (really 5-7 ... the extra half-hour is historical, to cater for students who have to start at 5:30pm) (see MLR1 directions for directions ... and if you are one of the ones who has not come to the introductory sessions, as above, please ensure you have checked out all the mini i-lectures and read the accompanying chapters listed below).
