[AMO/TT] Tournament of the Towns O Level on Saturday 9 November

The TT exams, are booked on two Saturdays 12-6pm. Since the O Level paper is so early this year (in UWA's exam period), the venue is Robert Street LT. The A Level paper is in Blakers Lecture Theatre as usual, i.e. they will be held on:

O Level Paper: Saturday 9 November 12n-6pm in Robert Street LT
A Level Paper: Saturday 30 November 12n-6pm in Blakers LT.

The unusual timings were requested by the the NSW State Director, partly to fit in better with the School of Excellence.

The following paragraphs, you will have read before ...

The O Level paper is a 4 hour paper: choose the slot that's convenient for you within the time between 12n and 6pm.

The A Level paper is a 5 hour paper: choose the slot that's convenient for you within the time between 12n and 6pm, i.e. you need to start between 12n and 1pm (less choice of time for this one).

Just remember: persistence, patience, self-belief are key ... just keep trying new ideas until you find an 'in' and then keep working at it, until you have a solution. Try to get at least a question completely out. You tend to get more for a complete question than for partially worked solutions to questions. It's best to start with the first question, and only abandon the question if you've spent an hour on it, and gotten nowhere. To get beyond a Participation, you need at least one question completely solved.

We'll discuss the O paper in the week following ... and hopefully that will help you feel better about it, and unusually, we will have more time to go through the O Level papers, and hopefully that it will be all the better for when you have a go at the A paper.
