[AMO/TT] Tournament of the Towns O Level on Sat 28 Nov at Perth Mod

As usual for the TT exams, I have booked two Saturdays. Unusually, we will do them at Perth Mod. We have been given AU 12, 13, 14, 20, 21. We will probably use AU 13, 14 and wind back the partition. We will make an assessment on Saturday. Also, we have been given from 12:45, and the booked time is until 5pm, but we don't need to be bound by that. We should be ok to stay as long as we need to. But let's try to be finished by 6pm.

So that says:

O Level Paper: Saturday 28 November 12:45-6pm in AU 13/14 at Perth Mod.
A Level Paper: Saturday 5 December 12:45-6pm in AU 13/14 at Perth Mod.

The O Level paper is a 4 hour paper: choose the slot that's convenient for you within the time between 12:45pm and 6pm. Essentially, that means you should try to start between 12:45 and 2pm.

The A Level paper is a 5 hour paper: choose the slot that's convenient for you within the time between 12:45 and 6pm, i.e. you need to start between 12:45 and 1pm (less choice of time for this one). Don't be too bound by that. If necessary, I will stay later than 6pm.

Just remember: persistence, patience, self-belief are key ... just keep trying new ideas until you find an 'in' and then keep working at it, until you have a solution. Try to get at least a question completely out. You tend to get more for a complete question than for partially worked solutions to questions. It's best to start with the first question, and only abandon the question if you've spent an hour on it, and gotten nowhere.

We'll discuss the O paper in the week following ... and hopefully that will help you feel better about it, when you have a go at the A paper.

For those who need directions, they are appended below.

Here are the directions to help you locate AU 12,13,14,20,21.

There is an online map at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perth_Modern_School#/map/0
While normally there is parking on the basketball courts off Subiaco Road, there will be so many other groups on site on Saturday, that finding parking will be difficult. So please, just organise to be dropped off at the beginning in Roberts Road, at the the entrance near Thomas Street. There you will see a boom gate, behind which is staff parking. Walk through the staff parking area until you find Administration. Then AU stands for Andrews building Upper level. Administration is the front side of the Andrews building. There is a sort of low bridge on the left side of Administration; use that to get to a door, which will be open, at the back of the Andrews building and go up one level to the Upper level. From there you should find us fairly easily.
