This coming week will be our last sessions for the year. So we will have one final session at Perth Mod on Monday 14 December, even if I have to open up, and one final session at UWA on Wednesday 16 December.
In 2021, we'll start again on 11 January at Perth Mod (usual 3:45pm start) and on 13 January at UWA, with sessions at UWA starting an hour earlier at 4pm, just during January, concentrating on AMO preparation, which will be held in early February. I'm not game to say the date, since I was a day wrong last year.
Just repeating, the sessions will be:
Mondays at Perth Mod in AU 19, from 3:45pm, from 11 January
Wednesdays at UWA in Blakers Lecture Theatre, from 4pm, from 13 January
With regard to the AMO, the AMT asked for my invitation list at the end of November. (They seem to be asking earlier every year.) School of Excellence invitees, those who have done a Senior Contest and attained the equivalent of 1 question, and some Year 9 and i Year 10 students who did very well in WAJO or AIMO this year, were invited. I was asked to omit some students that were going into Year 11 or Year 12 who had not achieved the equivalent of 1 question in the Senior Contest (sorry). At least the Year 11s will have another shot at both Senior Contest and AMO.
So, note that during January, at UWA, we start an hour earlier while school is out. In February, essentially when students are back at school, the UWA sessions will revert to a 5pm start.
